Icarus: Triumph
Triumph concludes the trilogy, presenting Icarus in a moment of celebration as he rises into the sky. The painting captures the intoxicating illusion of immortality and success, when aspiration eclipses caution. It is a fragile victory, suspended just before consequence.

Process
The delicate pencil drawing is finally contrasted with a strong acrylic background. The depth of the blue background and the shadows of the figure and generic spaces required a revision of the contrast of the shadows that define the figure. The human figure has been enhanced accordingly with charcoal and ink.
